About The Position

Responsible for planning and implementing a comprehensive school counseling program that includes preventative and responsive services while fostering academic, career, and social-emotional development. This position is for the Certified School Counselor Role 196 (2026-2027) at Starkey Ranch K8. It is a full-time, benefit-eligible position for 196 days per year. The role may require teaching an additional period beyond the base contract, with additional compensation provided for this supplement. Pasco County Schools utilizes the Florida Care Provider Background Screening Clearinghouse for fingerprinting and Level II background screening.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree from an accredited institution in the field of Guidance and Counseling, School Counseling, or related field OR Master’s degree from an accredited institution with a major in counseling other than school counseling that includes a minimum of 600 clock hours of supervised internship with school-aged children and their families with at least 9 semester hours of graduate credit as defined in Florida Department of Education Rule 6A-4.0181
  • Valid Florida Educator’s Certificate in Guidance and Counseling or School Counseling PK-12
  • Must pass Level II background screening
