About The Position

Promise Early Education Center is seeking a Social Worker/Family Advocate to make a difference in the life of a child. This role serves as a liaison between Head Start families and program services, focusing on building trust, case management, and connecting families with community resources to support their goals. The position involves home visits, family needs assessments, goal setting, recruitment and enrollment, record maintenance, and collaboration with other program staff. The program provides a SAFE, ENGAGING, AND EMPOWERING place for children to learn and grow, with a results-driven educational curriculum and a commitment to parent engagement.

Requirements

Must hold a valid Maine Driver's License.
Must have reliable transportation.
Ability to keep accurate documentation and up to date.
Attention to detail is imperative.
Ability to work as a team.
Ability to be a self-starter with initiative.
Must be detail oriented.
Ability to work independently.
Ability to collaborate with outside resources.

Nice To Haves

College Degree in Social Work, Social and/or Behavioral Sciences, Human Services, Social Services, Advocacy or other related degree preferred.
Bachelor's degree preferred.
Will consider Associates Degree or related experience.
Case Management experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Serve as a liaison between Head Start families and program services.
Build trust with families.
Provide case management.
Connect families with community resources to support their goals.
Conduct home visits.
Perform family needs assessments.
Assist with goal setting.
Manage recruitment and enrollment processes.
Maintain records.
Collaborate with other program staff, such as teachers.
Provide support focused on individual families' needs in health, education, nutrition, and social services.
Keep accurate and up-to-date documentation with attention to detail.
Maintain caseloads with children ranging from 0-5 years as well as prenatal mothers.
Positively influence and interact with the child's/children while maintaining a strong understanding of safety/quality of service.
Provide an effective and trusting relationship with children and families that creates a positive and receptive learning environment.
Develop individualized support plans per the family and child's/children's needs.
Record home visits and socialization attendance.
Advocate for children and families.
Provide guidance and goal setting support for family success.
Provide on-going support and crisis interventions through direct services as needed.
