Requirements
- Master's Degree in Social Work from an accredited school of social work.
- Must be licensed by the Maryland Board of Social Work Examiners at the LMSW level.
- A minimum of two (2) years of clinical social work experience in an Emergency Department environment, with demonstrated experience serving pediatric and adult populations.
Responsibilities
- Evaluates psychosocial needs of clients and hospital or clinic patients
- Conducts interviews to gather relevant client information
- Provides counseling to patients and families
- Collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to support recovery, welfare, and rehabilitation
- Initiates and completes timely discharge planning
- Provides information and referrals to appropriate community resources
- Participates in conferences, meetings, and staff development activities
- Maintains required documentation, records, and statistics
- Contributes to research initiatives and community peer meetings to enhance healthcare services
- Performs related duties as assigned
