About The Position

This is a specialist position. The social work incumbent will be required to use high order knowledge and clinical expertise and strong interpersonal skills to research, develop, implement and evaluate programs directed at youth in the Young Offender system. The program will be integrated with other key community/government agencies in the former Regina Qu’Appelle Health Region and Southern Saskatchewan.

Requirements

3 years of clinical exp. in a mental health, working w/ high risk forensic youth
Experience in clinical program development and evaluation
Working understanding of the Mental Health Services Act and related legislation
Highly developed written and oral communication skills
Knowledge of normal child & adolescent development & psychopathology
Advanced skills in teaching, supervision and community consultation.
Knowledge of aboriginal health issues, culture and traditions
Advanced knowledge of best practices of assessment, treatment & case management
Superior knowledge of criminogenic factors in juvenile offending
Registered/eligible with the Saskatchewan Association of Social Workers (SASW)
Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) or Master of Social Work (MSW)

Responsibilities

Research, develop, implement and evaluate programs directed at youth in the Young Offender system.

Design and conduct in-service training for other professionals.
Identify, collect, analyze data & provide reports on program outcome.
Travel within service delivery area.
