About The Position

The Louisiana Office of Juvenile Justice (OJJ) is driven by a powerful mission: protecting our communities while empowering youth to build healthier, more successful futures. We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Social Worker 7 to lead advanced clinical services for youth in custody. In this senior-level role, you will provide expert therapeutic interventions, guide and supervise clinical staff, and shape treatment strategies that promote healing, rehabilitation, and successful reintegration. Your leadership will directly influence the quality of care delivered to youth and strengthen the agency’s clinical practice. Requirements

  • Possession of a current Louisiana license to practice as a Licensed Master's Social Worker (LMSW) or a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW)
  • A master's degree in social work
  • Five years of social services experience (earned AFTER graduation date for Masters in Social Work)

Responsibilities

  • Conduct advanced clinical assessments and develop individualized treatment plans for youth.
  • Provide direct therapeutic services, including counseling, crisis intervention, and behavioral support.
  • Lead multidisciplinary team meetings, case reviews, and ongoing treatment planning efforts.
  • Supervise, mentor, and support lower-level social workers and interns, including staff training and development.
  • Coordinate care with facility staff, families, and external agencies to ensure continuity of services.
  • Monitor treatment progress, adjust interventions as needed, and ensure compliance with state regulations, ethical standards, and agency policies.
