About The Position

The AMANI program, part of CAMH's Child, Youth, and Emerging Adult Program (CYEAP), provides culturally competent mental health and substance use services to Black youth aged 12-24 in Toronto. To enhance access for Francophone Black youth and their families, AMANI is introducing French language services and seeks a full-time, permanent Bilingual Social Worker 2. This role reports to the senior manager of Child, Youth and Family Services (CYFS) and collaborates with other clinical services within CYEAP and across CAMH. The incumbent will primarily work with Francophone Black youth clients and their families, addressing co-morbid addiction and mental illness, and will also provide consultation to other professionals. The role operates within a model that acknowledges the impact of oppression and racism on the lived experiences of Black youth, including social determinants of health like housing, employment, and education, and the intersecting experiences of Black Francophone, immigrant, and refugee youth. Clinical interventions include assessment, case management, and individual and group therapy in both English and French. The position also involves supporting program development, clinical evaluation, continuous quality improvement, research activities, and providing supervision to MSW students. Collaboration with faculties of social work on special projects, contributing to best practices, and teaching other professionals are key aspects. External stakeholder collaboration for complex clients is also significant. The role supports a healthy, diverse, and team-oriented workplace, complying with regulatory requirements. Some evening hours and community work are required to improve access for Francophone clients. Participatory program development, including community engagement in service design, is also a component. Other duties as assigned. This position is located at 80 Workman Way.
