Requirements

  • Masters Degree - Social Work
  • Professional License / Certificate - LMSW
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to think independently, multi-task, make quick, decisive choices, all while fostering team interactions.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Must have thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Masters Degree in Social Work
  • Zero (0) to Two (2) years working in administration, nonprofit organization, or health care environment with supervisory experience
  • Current LCSW license from Arkansas Social Work Licensing Board.
  • Three (3) years working in administration, nonprofit organization, or health care environment with supervisory experience.

Responsibilities

  • Provides clinical psychosocial services and case management for the WPRCI patients and families in our outpatient clinical areas.
  • Participates in program development under the supervision of LCSW staff.
  • Participates in supervision process with LCSW toward obtaining LCSW.
  • Serves within multidisciplinary team to provide clinical psychosocial services for patients in the UAMS Cancer Service Line.
  • Provides direct counseling and education to patients/families regarding financial/social support to insure completion of treatment and access to clinical trials.
  • Develops programs that offer specialty care to support them through the continuum of cancer treatment.
  • Supervises graduate interns through their field experience and final requirements for graduation.
  • Serves as liaison with other departments/agencies, both internal and external.
  • Models positive collaboration/interaction with colleagues, management team, and other UAMS departments.
  • Serves as a member of the multidisciplinary health care team by preparing individualized treatment plans based on diagnostic assessments.
  • Liaisons with other departments and agencies to ensure proper allocation of resources to administer treatment plans.
  • Administers direct clinical services including individual therapy, family therapy, and group therapy.
  • Completes mandatory reporting in compliance with legal and professional standards and guidelines.
  • Supports and provides therapy and intervention for families dealing with disease, grief, crisis, and acute or chronic mental health issues.
  • Organizes patient support groups and serves as an advocate for patients within the community.
  • Interviews clients and performs psychosocial assessments to determine the needs of the patient or family.
  • Documents interview information and assessment results into medical records and initiates intervention plan.
  • Offers coping strategies and assists patients and families in securing needed resources for financial and other services to ensure continuity of care.
  • Participates with quality improvement, student supervision, obtaining resources, and departmental projects.
  • Maintains professional skills and credentialing as required by professional licensing organization.
  • Represents the department as needed on campus committees.
  • May perform other duties.
