About The Position

Bethany Christian Services is seeking a Master’s Level TF-CBT Intern to provide trauma-focused therapy to children, youth, and families in Kane and DuPage Counties under the supervision of a Licensed Social Worker (LSW). The intern will conduct assessments, participate in treatment planning, and deliver evidence-based Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) while gaining hands-on experience in trauma-informed care and child welfare services. Bethany will cover the cost of the 16-hour TF-CBT training, providing specialized preparation and support for delivering this evidence-based treatment model. This internship offers valuable clinical experience, ongoing supervision, and the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the lives of children and families.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in a college or university Master's Program and pursuing a structured internship experience related to their field of study or professional development
  • An applicable affiliation agreement must be fully executed prior to beginning the internship
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office or other relevant software tools
  • Willingness to learn and take initiative
  • Computer skills sufficient to perform essential functions including knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Must be 21 years old with a valid driver's license with at least 3 years driving experience in the U.S. to operate a vehicle on behalf of Bethany
  • Must pass a Motor Vehicle Records (MVR) check and maintain a reliable vehicle with proof of adequate coverage
  • Pass a criminal history screen, including state and local child protection agency registries
  • Subscription to and integration of the agency Statement of Faith, Mission Statement, and Commitment to Unity

Responsibilities

  • Assist with tasks relevant to the intern’s field of study or professional interest
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to project discussions as needed
  • Conduct research and compile information to support departmental initiatives
  • Shadow team members to gain insight into daily operations and workflows
  • Complete assigned tasks and projects within established timelines and with the appropriate level of supervision
  • Participate in required training and supervision, seek feedback, and apply what they learn to assigned activities
  • Maintain confidentiality and demonstrate professionalism in all interactions
  • Comply with applicable Bethany policies, procedures, safety requirements, and program-specific regulatory or contractual requirements
  • Essential job responsibilities may vary based on the specific needs of each program/department
  • May be required or asked to participate in a Bethany sponsored event
  • Complete other duties as assigned
