This position provides professional mental health services to inmates, including formal and informal mental health evaluations, diagnostic assessments, gender-affirming care, and clinical interventions. The role involves assuring accurate Information System mental health needs levels, providing group, brief, and individual therapy, and crisis intervention, including participation in a 24-hour Mental Health On-Call Rotation. Responsibilities also include assuring emergency and non-emergency transfers for inmates with acute mental health needs, providing clinical direction to non-clinical staff, ensuring continuity of care through referrals and documentation, and maintaining accurate inmate mental health records through both handwritten and electronic documentation. The position requires monitoring inmate treatment, listening to concerns, and providing counseling. Additionally, the role promotes and is accountable for the safety and security of the clinical and correctional environment through observations and contraband control, reporting violations, and attending assigned training, including self-defense courses.
