About The Position

Head Start is a federal program serving vulnerable children and families, including those experiencing homelessness, poverty, involvement in the foster or child protective systems, or other family stressors. Head Start classrooms are inclusive and do not expel or exclude children due to behavioral issues or disabilities. The Family Service Coordinator (FSC) provides direct social services support to families in Head Start, facilitating family development in areas of goals and parent education, and encouraging family engagement in program opportunities. The FSC also supports obtaining required health screenings and data, and assists with broader program and center needs, ensuring accurate and timely data entry and documentation. This position works under the general supervision of the Center Manager and interacts extensively with parents and children, serving as a daily contact point for parents and visitors. The position is assigned to a primary center location but may require temporary moves or reassignment within the specified area to support program operations. Travel to other locations for meetings and trainings is required, and occasional alternate work schedules may be necessary for family events. This position is grant-funded, and its continuation is dependent on funding.
