The Washington Post is seeking a creative and versatile social video editor to help drive visual storytelling across our social platforms. We’re looking for an editor who understands how journalism travels on social media — and how to shape it for audiences who expect immediacy, personality and clarity. This role will identify and create high-impact news video as well as work with Post journalists to create social-first video that resonates across Instagram, TikTok, YouTube Shorts, Snapchat, X and emerging platforms. The ideal candidate is fluent in shooting and editing vertical video, deeply familiar with platform best practices and energized by the challenge of translating rigorous reporting into compelling short-form storytelling. This editor will be part of a team focused on producing high-impact video for both The Post’s owned-and-operated platforms and social ecosystems, helping grow reach, engagement and brand loyalty. This position is based in our Washington, D.C., newsroom.
