Social Studies Teacher
About The Position
The Connecticut River Academy (CTRA) is seeking a full-time 8th Grade Social Studies Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. CTRA is a Sustainability Studies/Early College Magnet School operated by Goodwin University, serving grades 6-12. The Middle Grades Program (grades 6-8) focuses on bridging academic and social-emotional success for students transitioning from elementary to high school. The ideal candidate will be able to motivate students from diverse backgrounds and interests, possess excellent interpersonal skills, a strong desire to work with students from urban and suburban settings, and an understanding of multicultural education.
Requirements
- Appropriate CSDE certification (K-6 certification or 7-12 Social Studies) or evidence of eligibility
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Strong desire to work with students from urban and suburban settings
- Understanding of and appreciation for multicultural education
