About The Position

This position is a 12-month role at the Cabarrus Youth Development Center, responsible for teaching Social Studies courses to students in grades 6-12. The teacher will plan lessons aligned with NC Standards and individual student needs, ensuring engaging activities to teach concepts. The role involves utilizing research-based strategies and interventions, using data to inform instruction, implementing IEPs, and maintaining student records. The teacher will also be a member of an interdisciplinary team for student services and treatment, and will be responsible for keeping exceptional children's program paperwork and student progress records up to date.

Requirements

• Possess a valid North Carolina teacher license, "A" or "M", with teaching certification in the area of Social Studies (middle school) or Social Studies (high school) or be eligible for a NC Teacher License through an alternative licensing pathway offered by NCDPI.
• Have a four year college degree from an accredited post-secondary education institution.
