About The Position

This is a one year only contracted teaching position for the 2026-27 school year, 9½-month professional position (1.0 FTE) with paid sick and personal leave. The successful candidate will be part of high-energy and enthusiastic teams of professionals, dedicated to meeting the academic, social and emotional needs of students. Successful candidates are reliable, show initiative, are self-motivated, and self-directed. Must be able to work with all students and staff to provide academic, social and behavior support for the school.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in education
  • Appropriate Missouri Teaching Certification in Social Studies (9-12) required
  • The ability to produce engaging lessons in person and in a virtual setting is required
  • The ability to listen well and take initiative to solve problems is required
  • Strong organizational skills and self-motivation are required
  • The ability to work with a multi-ethnic, multicultural student population is required
  • The ability to remain flexible and positive with the demands and assignments of the job without losing sight of the mission, task or assignment is required
  • The ability to work independently, use good judgment and think quickly and rationally in stressful situations is required
  • The ability to effectively present information, respond to questions, and interact positively with students, staff, administration, and the community is required
  • The ability to work as a team player, communicate and collaborate with administration, staff and other professionals is required
  • The willingness to learn new material and attend professional development, conferences and workshops is required

Nice To Haves

  • Prior teaching experience in a school setting at the secondary level is preferred
