About The Position
The purpose of the Social Services Supervisor is to directly supervise staff within their unit. The supervisor oversees the operations of the programs and attends meetings.
Requirements
- Knowledge of computer operations, office practices and procedures, federal, state, and local laws, rules, and regulations, program planning, development and implementation, and administrative practices
- Skills in typing, word processing, oral communication, writing, interviewing, advising, and supervising
- Ability in reasoning, numerical, verbal, clerical, interpersonal, and physical
- Bachelors Degree in Social Work or Social Services related field
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in the program and/or 3 years’ experience as a supervisor
- Must possess a valid Ohio driver’s license
Responsibilities
- Provides direct supervision of division program unit of Intake, Ongoing or Foster/Adoption, determines need for new staff members, interviews applicants, disciplines subordinates, reviews, approves, or denies employee leave requests, completes performance evaluations, assigns and reviews work of subordinates.
- Oversees the operation of the program division unit assigned.
- Attends meetings and serves on advisory committees.
- Communicates with outside agencies.
- Conducts meetings within their unit.
