About The Position

The Social Services Manager oversees and coordinates the Social Services Department functions. Interprets policies, procedures, standards, and regulations as appropriate and supervises programs for the maximum utility of services. Provides direct supervision to Social Workers. Performs tasks and responsibilities in a manner consistent with Bethany Children’s Health Center’s Mission, Vision, Values, and Standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in social work or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in direct care/direct practice.
  • LCSW or LMSW preferred, or willing to obtain.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree preferred.
  • Hospital or Child Welfare experience preferred.
  • Prior leadership/management experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Department Management: Monitor department effectiveness and outcomes. Ensure services meet organizational goals and community needs. Acts as a liaison with other departments.
  • Staff Supervision: Train, supervise and evaluate social services staff. Provide leadership, mentorship and performance feedback. Schedule staff coverage and assign workloads. Support professional development and continuing education.
  • Patient family oversight: Ensure patients and families receive appropriate support and resources. Address complex patient family concerns and grievances. Communicate effectively with patients and families.
  • Compliance and Documentation: Ensures compliance with state, federal, and organizational regulations. Maintains accurate records. Monitor confidentiality and ethical standards. Prepare reports for hospital leadership or accreditation organizations.
  • Quality Improvement: Analyze service data and outcomes. Implement quality improvement initiatives. Develop policies and procedures. Address service gaps and operational challenges.
  • Community Collaboration: Build relationships with community agencies and stakeholders. Coordinate partnerships and outreach activities. Promote awareness of available services.
  • Provides relief coverage for Social Workers on paid time off as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned
