About The Position

McMan Youth, Family and Community Services Association is a not-for-profit agency established in 1975, providing a range of comprehensive programs across Alberta. McMan has earned a reputation for success and positive relationships, known as a responsive, competent, and innovative partner in service delivery. Our Family Resource Network (FRN) in Drayton Valley is seeking a Full-Time Permanent Home Visitor. The FRN is funded by the Ministry of Children and Family Services and offers evidence-based services to Alberta families, children, and youth aged 0-18, focusing on child development, well-being support, caregiver capacity building, and social connections.

Requirements

  • Post secondary diploma at minimum, preferred degree directly related to Human Services from an approved institution
  • Required 1 year of frontline human services experience, preferred 3 years of human services work related to working with families
  • Proof of Membership in Professional Association (when applicable)
  • Committed to provide common sense, understandable and useful parenting skills.
  • Basic First Aid Level C with adult, child, and infant CPR &AED
  • Suicide Intervention Training & De-Escalation Training
  • Intervention Record & Criminal Record Checks with the vulnerable sector
  • Class 5 drivers license, clean drivers abstract and reliable vehicle for client transportation required.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of the Child, Youth, Family Enhancement Act considered an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Provided in-home parenting education and family support services to expectant parents and those with children newborn to age six.
  • Work in the family home provides families with information and support that helps them improve their parenting skills and provide a safe, nurturing environment for their children.
  • Serve families who face challenges that may place their children at risk and keep them from developing to their full potential.
  • Collect and prepare data to ensure proper reporting in accordance with stakeholder deadlines.
