The Social Services Coordinator, Community Corrections is responsible for assessing specific offender needs and facilitating the necessary programs in order to address needs. They provide exceptional customer service and complies with company policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice, Social Sciences or other related field is required.
  • One year of experience in case management, social services or a related field is required.
  • Demonstrate ability to complete pre-service and other training programs as required.
  • Ability to communicate clearly orally and in writing and apply problem solving techniques to complex issues.
  • Minimum age requirement: Must be at least 18 years of age.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in Microsoft Office or other similar software applications is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Participate and facilitate the Program Review Team (PRT) for resident programming needs and goal completion.
  • Develop, coordinate, present and facilitate reentry programs / workshops to ensure continuity of care for the offender (i.e. job readiness, portfolio and resume development, interview technique training, women’s specialized program, etc).
  • Facilitate services for offenders with special needs (i.e. sex offenders, significant medical and mental health issues, drug and alcohol abuse / dependence and specialized female offender programming).
  • Administer and evaluates assessment tool for each offender to determine if there is a greater need than employment and if reduced employment hours may be necessary to facilitate reentry needs (i.e. furthering educational and vocational training, mental health treatment, volunteer opportunities, community service).
  • Provide offenders with employment assistance by matching the offender’s skill level through job placement resources, online resources (i.e. DOL website and America’s Career Info Net) and in the community, in conjunction with other team members. Meet with unemployed residents on a weekly basis to assist with securing employment.
