About The Position

This position is located in Baton Rouge, LA. This is a temporary Job Appointment that may last up to 4 years only. Office of Early Childhood Operations Job Focus Area: The Program Integrity and Compliance Unit establishes and maintains a comprehensive, standardized framework to prevent, detect, investigate, and resolve fraud, waste, abuse, and non-compliance across all state and federally funded programs, ensuring resources are managed responsibly, benefits are provided only to eligible recipients, and program objectives are achieved with integrity, accountability, and regulatory compliance. The Program Integrity & Compliance Auditor is responsible for reviewing internal control reports, conducting compliance audits, and ensuring adherence to regulatory and organizational standards. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple assignments while maintaining accuracy and timeliness.

Requirements

  • Four years of experience in social services; OR Six years of full-time experience in any field, plus one year of experience in social services; OR A bachelor's degree plus one year of experience in social services; OR An advanced degree in a social sciences field.
  • Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Experience with compliance, auditing, or program integrity functions
  • Proficiency in data management systems and reporting tools
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Following Policies and Procedures: The ability to follow, reinforce, adapt, or develop policies and procedures to maintain compliance with federal and state legal requirements, State Civil Service rules, and organizational policies.

Responsibilities

  • Receive, assess, and investigate internal control “red flag” referrals; conduct compliance reviews and audits, documenting appropriate findings and recommendations.
  • Review audit samples, analyze data, and manage information within designated data systems to support compliance determinations.
  • Complete assigned program integrity and compliance audit reviews accurately and within established timelines, maintaining a high standard of quality with minimal errors.
  • Meet established performance metrics, deadlines, and productivity expectations.
  • Support and participate in various assigned projects, initiatives, and operational tasks as needed.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, including documentation of structural or programmatic changes driven by economic or operational factors.
