About The Position

This is a merit hire position with a starting pay rate of $16.00 per hour. It is covered by a Collective Bargaining Agreement. Dauphin County Children & Youth Services is accepting applications for a full-time position of Social Services Aide 2. This role involves routine non-professional direct contact work within the Children and Youth Agency. The employee in this position performs liaison, messenger, and escort tasks to assist professional social services staff in meeting client needs. Responsibilities include making routine entries in case files and providing input to professional staff based on observations and interactions with clients and others. The incumbent may also perform basic clerical tasks and reports to a Casework Supervisor.

Requirements

• Graduation from high school or its equivalency, and two years of experience in public contact work in a human services agency.
• An associate's degree in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences.
• Any equivalent combination of experience and training and an associate's degree in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences.
• Valid driver’s license and positive driving record at the time of hire.
• Favorable criminal background check, child abuse and FBI clearances, as well as favorable references at the time of hire.
• Proof of a valid Pennsylvania driver’s license within 60 days from the date of hire (or an alternative form of identification if not eligible for a PA driver's license and driving is not an essential function).
