About The Position

The Research Associate will be provided with training in clinical assessments and will gain experience in general research administration and the preparation of publications and conference presentations. The position is funded by the National Cancer Institute and will be supervised by Dr. Jasper Smits. This is a fixed-term 1-year position.

Requirements

  • A minimum of Bachelor's Degree in Psychology or a related field and prior research experience (including experience as a student) though relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
  • Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior research experience in a psychology lab.
  • Speaks English and Spanish.
  • Experience with data management and the use of software programs for statistical analysis such as REDCap and R-Studio.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinating recruitment efforts for an ongoing clinical trial that examines a community based aerobic exercise intervention for smoking cessation in adults with high anxiety sensitivity.
  • Organizing and overseeing data collection and study protocols, including management, cleaning, and preparation of data collected via online survey platforms (REDCap, R-Studio, Qualtrics).
  • Interfacing with research and clinical staff to maintain effective communication regarding participant scheduling, data management, and quality control.
  • Conducting clinical interviews and preparing assessments.
  • Maintaining and revising IRB protocols and assisting with research compliance reports and procedures.
  • Supervision of undergraduate students conducting data entry and other tasks.
