This position supports federally funded social science field research through the USDA Forest Service’s National Visitor Use Monitoring Program. The employee will conduct on site, face to face visitor surveys with national forest visitors as part of a temporary, project based data collection effort. Duties may include visitor intercept surveys, field based survey administration, communication with recreation visitors, travel to assigned survey locations, data entry, coordination with project staff, and other related research support tasks as assigned. Work is expected to occur during the 2026 field season, with exact start and end dates based on project needs, employee availability, and funding. The position is fully grant funded and not considered essential staff.
