About The Position

Rocscience is seeking a Social Media Strategist to lead the strategy, planning, execution, and optimization of its social media presence across LinkedIn, YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, and WhatsApp. This role is designed for an individual who can transform social media from a reactive publishing function into a structured, measurable, platform-first brand and demand engine. It is a hands-on strategy and execution role requiring expertise in content planning, community management, reporting, platform behavior, and cross-functional coordination. The ideal candidate is proactive, highly organized, commercially aware, and capable of driving work forward while keeping stakeholders informed and aligned. This is an existing vacant role with an expected total compensation of $75,000-$85,000 CAD, based on experience. The position is hybrid, requiring 4 days per week in the office (Monday – Thursday).

Requirements

  • 4-5 years of experience in social media strategy, social media management, content strategy, or a closely related role.
  • Proven experience managing multiple social platforms for a brand or agency.
  • Strong writing and editing skills with the ability to adapt tone and structure by platform.
  • Experience creating content calendars, campaign plans, and reporting frameworks.
  • Experience with community management and audience engagement.
  • Strong analytical skills and confidence working with platform metrics and performance reporting.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with designers, video editors, product teams, and leadership.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.

  • Experience working in B2B, software, engineering, or technical industries.
  • Experience turning webinars, case studies, or expert-led content into multi-platform social campaigns.

Responsibilities

  • Own and maintain a rolling social media calendar across LinkedIn, YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, and WhatsApp.
  • Build platform-specific content plans aligned with business goals, product priorities, launches, webinars, events, and campaigns.
  • Translate company priorities into recurring content pillars, campaigns, and content franchises.
  • Identify opportunities to repurpose webinars, product updates, case studies, and expert insights into high-performing social content across formats.
  • Write, edit, and publish compelling platform-native social copy across channels.
  • Develop clear creative briefs for design and video teams, including objective, audience, hook, message, CTA, and format requirements.
  • Partner with internal experts, product managers, and leadership to source technical content and turn it into social assets.
  • Manage recurring content series, employee advocacy packs, and monthly LinkedIn newsletter planning.
  • Monitor and respond to comments, direct messages, and brand mentions across priority channels in a timely and professional manner.
  • Engage thoughtfully with followers, customers, prospects, and industry voices to strengthen community and brand presence.
  • Escalate sensitive or high-risk issues appropriately and maintain awareness of reputational concerns.
  • Surface recurring audience questions and feedback to improve future content and campaign planning.
  • Track performance across channels, formats, and campaigns using the most relevant platform metrics.
  • Produce monthly reports with insights, learnings, and clear recommendations for improvement.
  • Lead quarterly strategic reviews with performance trends, content analysis, and optimization opportunities.
  • Monitor platform updates, algorithm shifts, and content best practices, then translate them into actionable recommendations.
  • Support regional Facebook and WhatsApp campaign needs by preparing content and asset packs for local sales teams.
  • Coordinate with marketing, product, events, and leadership to keep social aligned with the broader business calendar.
  • Help create more consistent internal processes for approvals, content requests, and reporting.
