About The Position

Born Social is a global social media agency that brings social-first thinking to the brands of tomorrow. For the last 10 years, they have helped brands navigate and harness the chaos of social, working with household names like Uber, Mars, and Ford, as well as next-generation brands like Seedlip and Primark. The agency is powered by Croud, a leading performance marketing agency, and benefits from being part of the Croud Group. Born Social is an ambitious team of almost 200 people across the UK & US, growing fast and looking to recruit founding members for their US team. As a Social Media Manager, you will be responsible for representing client communities and collaborating with Strategists on social-first tactics to execute strategies. This role is ideal for someone immersed in social-first trends and internet culture, who enjoys a fast-paced, collaborative environment, and possesses an entrepreneurial mindset.

Requirements

  • A creative, social native: Well versed across key social platforms, with experience creating and editing native lo-fi content (TikTok & Reels).
  • Immersed in social and popular culture: Regularly keeping up to date with the latest social trends across platforms and in popular culture.
  • Quick-witted, with a flair for comedic community management, able to "speak the internet" with a strong understanding of social in-jokes and language.
  • Enjoys working fast: Thrives in an agile and fast-paced environment, with plenty of variety every day, thinking on your feet, and moving fast to adapt and react to the latest daily trends.
  • Collaborative: Requires lots of in-person communication and collaboration.
  • Pride in your work: Treats client's brands as their own and is meticulous about their approach, striving for perfection.
  • Real drive and ambition: Constantly adapting to the ever-growing world of social, with a mindset of growth and ambition.
  • Two or more years of experience working with social media.

Responsibilities

  • Culture Scouting: Looking for reactive opportunities in community and culture and ideating the best ways for clients to enter those moments in real-time.
  • Community Management: Monitoring and responding to messages from communities, identifying proactive opportunities beyond tagged mentions to engage with new audiences, and crafting social-first replies through relevant copy and creative tactics.
  • Ideation: Pairing knowledge of social-first trends and audience insights with brand knowledge and tone of voice to ideate content across all formats from written to visual responses.
  • Copywriting: Acting as the voice across brand channels, writing copy for community responses and captions on social posts.
  • Lo-Fi content creation: Creating and editing native lo-fi assets (both meme and video formats) across Instagram Reels, Instagram Stories, and TikTok, ensuring content complies with best practice for each platform.
  • Influencer Management: Identifying relevant creators for clients to partner with, and leading the end-to-end process from identification to briefing.
  • Reporting: Evaluating the organic performance of content for clients, sharing valuable insights and creative analysis to drive forward the iteration of strategies and output delivery.
  • Collaboration & Communication: Working in a nimble and collaborative environment, closely with Strategists, Account Directors, and Social Media Managers to ensure leading social-first delivery for clients, ideating and communicating regularly.
