About The Position

Security Benefit is seeking a Social Media Intern to join a collaborative, agile team. This role will involve contributing to creative initiatives, social media strategy, and ensuring brand consistency while driving audience engagement. The intern will report to the Director, Strategic Brand & Client Engagement and will be based in Topeka, Kansas, with a hybrid work schedule. The internship is designed to accommodate full-time students, starting at 10-20 hours per week, with the flexibility to increase hours during breaks or summer. Requirements

Full time students currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field.
Strong communication both verbally and in writing, and organizational skills with a high level of attention to detail.
Excellent time management skills with the ability to work independently or with teams.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Proactive attitude with interest in marketing, branding, and storytelling.

Nice To Haves

Familiarity with digital marketing channels and social media platforms preferred.

Responsibilities

Assist with the creation of social media campaigns.
Create and distribute content such as blogs, infographics, videos and press releases on social media and traditional news outlets.
Track social media engagement to identify high-performing ideas and campaigns for scalability.
Brainstorm and research ideas for original content.
Write social media captions that speak to the company’s target audience.
Help create and edit short-form videos.
Develop new strategies for increasing engagement.
Assist with photo/video content shoots.
Ensure brand message is consistent.
