About The Position

Patriot Enterprises, LLC is seeking an experienced Social Media Director to support Public Affairs (PA)/Visual Information (VI), Knowledge Management (KM), and Multimedia services for the Commander Naval Surface Forces Pacific (CNSP) Public Affairs Office. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Collaborate with website developers, Navy mass communication specialists, public affairs officers, and external partners. Act as the social media subject matter expert, instructor, and technical support resource for the Surface Force, and represent CNSP PAO at Fleet Public Affairs Centers. Serve as a subject matter expert, instructor, and technical support representative to the Force. Provide technical support to commands on shore and afloat in setting up new channels and/or helping Unit Public Affairs Representatives to gain access to locked or deactivated accounts.

Requirements

  • Security Clearance: Secret
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent training and/or experience
  • Proofreading skills
  • Advanced knowledge and use of content gathering techniques, lighting equipment, and lighting techniques
  • Experience working collaboratively with all internal and external team members, including website developers, Navy mass communication specialists, and public affairs officers, etc., to effectively communicate the Surface Force strategy.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in communications, journalism, public relations, marketing, graphic design, or a related field.
  • 3-5+ years of social media management experience, ideally in a military, government, or public affairs setting.
  • Active Secret clearance at time of hire.
  • Familiarity with SECNAVINST 5720.44C (Navy Public Affairs Policy and Regulations)

Responsibilities

  • Grow CNSP social media channels through aligned, eye-catching, and engaging content.
  • Communicate the value proposition of the Surface Force on social media.
  • Take CNSP PA-approved stories/text and create visually appealing electronic media by using a variety of methods such as color, type, photo illustration, infographics, and various layout techniques.
  • Incorporate requested text changes into posts undergoing revision.
  • Gather content, and utilize lighting equipment and techniques.
  • Work collaboratively with all internal and external team members, including website developers, Navy mass communication specialists, and public affairs officers, etc., to effectively communicate the Surface Force strategy.
  • Build a social media strategy for Surface Force communication plans.
  • Prioritize and manage multiple tasks and meet agreed-upon deadlines.
  • Fulfill requests for social media guidance.
  • Produce and distribute still photo, text, and video content for Surface Force social media platforms.
  • Analyze social media effectiveness.
  • Represent CNSP PAO at Fleet Public Affairs Centers (FLTPACENs) as the SME for social media.
  • Support the PAO during prospective commanding officer/executive officer/command master chief briefings on all questions surrounding social media.
  • Travel occasionally to support CNSP PA tasking.
