About The Position

Essential Functions (Responsibilities) Manage and create content for all Gilcrease social media platforms, including scheduling, copywriting and community engagement. Take photos and shoot video of events, activities and programs. Manage social media calendars and content across platforms using a scheduling tool. Track mentions, engagement and other metrics; report regularly. Develop and implement social media strategies aligned with Gilcrease goals. Create, schedule, and publish engaging content across platforms (Facebook, Instagram, X/Twitter, LinkedIn, TikTok, etc.). Monitor social media channels, respond to inquiries, and engage with followers. Track performance metrics, analyze trends, and prepare monthly reports. Manage paid social campaigns and optimize for reach and engagement. Stay current on social media trends and best practices in the cultural sector. Works closely with leadership of Gilcrease. Required Qualifications Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Strong writing, editing and storytelling skills. Proficiency in social media management tools (e.g., Hootsuite, Buffer) and analytics platforms. Knowledge of SEO, paid advertising and content optimization. Creative mindset with experience in photography, video editing or graphic design (Adobe Creative Suite preferred). Ability to approach and respond to sensitive topics and a variety of audiences with care and respect. Equivalent Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, digital media or related field. At least three years of experience managing social media for a brand or organization; nonprofit or museum experience preferred. Special Job Dimensions Flexible Schedule: Must be available for occasional evenings and weekends to cover Gilcrease events, exhibitions and programs. On-Site & Off-Site Work: Requires mobility within the museum for content creation and occasional travel. High Responsiveness: Ability to monitor and respond to social media activity outside standard business hours when necessary. Creative & Technical Balance: Combines creative content development with strategy and analytics. Cross-Department Collaboration: Works closely with marketing, curatorial, education and development teams to align messaging and campaigns. Public-Facing Role: Represents Gilcrease’s voice online and occasionally in person during live streams or event coverage. Physical Requirements Ability to work at a computer for extended periods. Frequent use of hands for typing and handling digital equipment such as cameras. Occasional lifting of promotional materials or equipment (up to 20 pounds). Ability to move throughout museum spaces for content creation and event coverage.
