About The Position

Firmdale Hotels is seeking a dynamic and creative Social Media & Content Manager to join our PR & Marketing team in New York. This is a unique opportunity to be part of a passionate, fast-paced team based in Manhattan, responsible for the communications of our three award-winning New York properties: Crosby Street Hotel, The Whitby Hotel and Warren Street Hotel. This role offers hands-on experience in travel and F&B social media management for one of the most successful privately owned luxury hotel groups, with a strong focus on storytelling, content creation and brand growth. You will lead the social media strategy for Firmdale’s New York hotels across Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn and TikTok, working closely with the Social Media Manager in London to ensure brand alignment and consistency in tone, content and messaging. You’ll oversee the creation of high-end content, combining professional photography and videography with spontaneous, iPhone-led video to capture the personality and spirit of each property. Working collaboratively with the New York PR Manager and hotel teams, you will support key revenue drivers including rooms, restaurants, bars and events, while growing brand awareness, loyalty and audience reach.

Requirements

  • Genuine passion for social media, digital trends and hospitality
  • Minimum five years’ experience in social media within the lifestyle or hospitality sector (F&B experience preferred)
  • Established network of industry and influencer contacts
  • Strong understanding of Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn and Facebook, with the ability to adapt content for evolving platform behaviors
  • Confident, creative copywriter with a strong brand voice
  • Proven track record of growing social media accounts
  • Experience managing social calendars, scheduling tools and platform or third-party reporting
  • Highly proficient with iPhone and enthusiastic about content creation
  • Exceptionally organized, with the ability to prioritize and manage a high-volume workload

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement an insight-led social media strategy for Firmdale’s New York hotels, aligned with the London hotels and wider Firmdale brand, supporting PR, marketing and commercial objectives
  • Own copywriting, content creation, scheduling, publishing and community management for New York properties, ensuring all content reflects the Firmdale brand
  • Create daily content as well as lead strategic campaigns around activations, events and seasonal moments
  • Work closely with the London social media team to develop New York-focused stories for Firmdale brand channels
  • Monitor and engage with conversations about Firmdale’s New York hotels, proactively building relationships with key accounts including journalists and travel agents
  • Identify, test and implement emerging social media trends, formats and platform features
  • Manage the paid social agency for Instagram and Facebook, executing and reporting on campaigns that drive awareness for hotels and restaurants
  • Support Firmdale’s introduction to TikTok, leading creator partnerships for New York properties
  • Collaborate with third-party partners (including Design Hotels, Mr. & Mrs. Smith and drinks brands) on co-created content
  • Manage targeted content creator campaigns alongside the PR team, on both a paid and gifted basis
  • Frequently visit New York hotels, bars and restaurants to capture engaging iPhone video for Instagram Reels and social storytelling
  • Monitor, analyze and report on social performance
  • Use data-driven growth tactics to increase engagement and audience
  • Produce weekly social reports
  • Deliver ad-hoc reports for campaigns, projects and key events
  • Support the Marketing team with content creation for the website, email newsletters and third-party communications
  • Assist with photo and video shoots and support the wider PR & Marketing strategy, including promotion of experiences and events
