About The Position

JLC Electrical Contractors is seeking a creative and motivated Social Media Content Intern / Field Content Creator to capture and produce engaging content from their various projects, including residential, commercial, generator, and construction sites across Monmouth and Ocean Counties. This role is ideal for students, recent graduates, or aspiring professionals looking to build their portfolio and gain practical experience. The intern will be responsible for visiting job sites, photographing and filming electrical work, creating short-form videos for platforms like Instagram and Facebook, developing creative content ideas, and assisting with social media planning. The goal is to showcase the quality of JLC's work and the personality of their team through compelling visuals and storytelling.

Requirements

• A good eye for photography and video.
• Understanding of what makes content visually appealing.
• Comfortable working around active construction and job sites.
• Ability to take direction and bring new ideas.
• Personable and comfortable interacting with technicians and customers.
• Understanding of Instagram, Facebook, Reels, and short-form video.
• Ability to shoot vertically for social media and horizontally for the website.
• Dependable and able to travel locally to different project locations.
• Ability to work independently once given direction.
• Attention to small details in the background before taking photos or video.
• Interest in marketing, photography, videography, social media, construction, home improvement, or a related field.
• Portfolio required, with examples involving homes/real estate, construction/job sites, architecture, outdoor projects, home improvement, landscaping, automotive/equipment, trades/contractor businesses, before-and-after content, and short-form/Reel-style videos.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with CapCut, Canva, Adobe, Lightroom, Premiere Pro, Final Cut, or similar programs.
• Ability to produce high-quality work using a modern smartphone (professional camera not necessarily required).

Responsibilities

• Visit JLC residential and commercial job sites to capture photos and short-form video.
• Photograph and film electricians performing installations, service work, generator projects, lighting projects, renovations, and other electrical work.
• Capture before-and-after content and project progress.
• Create short videos and Reels for Instagram and Facebook.
• Help develop creative ideas for social media content.
• Identify interesting moments on job sites that could become educational or promotional content.
• Capture high-quality photos for website, social media, advertising, and marketing materials.
• Help organize and maintain a library of JLC photos and videos.
• Assist with captions, content ideas, and basic social media planning.
• Occasionally interview or film technicians explaining projects or electrical tips.
• Help show the personality of the team and what it's like behind the scenes at JLC.
