About The Position

Matador AI is seeking a highly social, internet-native intern to help the company become part of conversations happening across social media, online communities, forums, and industry groups. This role focuses on finding relevant conversations, understanding community cultures, and participating naturally and usefully. The intern will engage in platforms like LinkedIn, Facebook Groups, Reddit, and industry forums, contributing to Matador's presence and gathering insights.

Requirements

  • Naturally sociable and enjoys talking to people online.
  • Understands how social media platforms actually work — not just how to publish posts on them.
  • Comfortable navigating Reddit, Facebook Groups, LinkedIn, forums, Discord-style communities, and emerging platforms.
  • Understands that every online community has its own culture, language, rules, and etiquette.
  • Clever enough to participate in a conversation without sounding like a salesperson.
  • Highly resourceful and good at finding information that isn’t immediately obvious.
  • Strong written communication skills and can adapt your tone depending on who you’re speaking with.
  • Knows how to research people, companies, topics, and conversations quickly.
  • Strong internet instincts and knows how to recognize interesting conversations and opportunities.
  • Curious and willing to learn about automotive dealerships, artificial intelligence, sales, marketing, and technology.
  • Can work independently without needing a detailed playbook for every situation.
  • Isn’t afraid to experiment, test new ideas, and figure things out.

Responsibilities

  • Find relevant Facebook Groups, LinkedIn communities, Reddit discussions, forums, and other online communities where our target audience spends time.
  • Actively participate in discussions and build genuine relationships with community members.
  • Identify conversations where Matador’s expertise, content, data, or perspective could genuinely add value.
  • Respond to questions and discussions in a natural, non-corporate way.
  • Monitor trending discussions, recurring questions, pain points, complaints, and industry conversations.
  • Find creative opportunities to introduce Matador without making interactions feel like advertising.
  • Engage with posts from dealerships, industry leaders, vendors, influencers, and potential customers.
  • Research new communities and unconventional channels where our audience may be active.
  • Surface interesting conversations and insights to our marketing, sales, product, and content teams.
  • Help identify potential content ideas based on what people are actually talking about online.
  • Track engagement, conversations, opportunities, and learnings across different platforms.
  • Experiment with different approaches to understand what generates meaningful conversations and engagement.
