Social Media Journalist and Event Contractor
About The Position
People Creating Success (PCS) is seeking a creative and community-focused Social Media Community Engagement Coordinator. This role involves strengthening and engaging the community through media and events, spotlighting extraordinary people, coordinating events, and building meaningful connections. The ideal candidate will use their communication skills and creativity to manage social media, website content, and online reputation, while also attending and documenting community events to showcase PCS's services, staff, and participants. The role also focuses on promoting internal culture and uplifting morale through internal marketing and staff engagement. Additionally, the coordinator will create compelling content and campaigns to engage regional centers, community partners, and the broader public.
Requirements
- Compassionate with a people-oriented mindset.
- A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Own Production and Post Production Equipment (e.g., Camera, microphone, editing software).
- Strong experience with digital marketing, social media management, and/or community outreach.
- Excellent writing, communication and design sensibility.
- Ability to work proficiently on a deadline.
- Genuine interest in social impact, inclusion and advocacy for people with disabilities.
- Organized, self-motivated, and ready to travel to events throughout the region.

- Portfolio or links to past marketing campaigns.
- Familiarity with HCBA, regional centers, or social services.
Responsibilities
- Manage PCS’ social media accounts, website content, and online reputation.
- Attend and document community events, highlighting services, staff members, and extraordinary participants.
- Promote internal culture, uplift morale through internal marketing, staff engagement, and person-centered messaging.
- Create compelling content and campaigns that engage regional centers, community partners, and bridge the gap to the broader public.
