About The Position

The Social Media Associate is responsible for the day-to-day operations of Michigan Humane’s social media presence. The associate creates and coordinates all social media content in alignment with the organization’s brand, mission, and communication goals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, public relations, advertising, or communication
  • 1-3 years in a marketing or communications role
  • Experience working with social media community management platforms, such as Sprout Social and Meta Business Suite.
  • Strong passion for staying abreast the latest social media marketing trends
  • Strong skills in writing, copyediting and proofreading

Responsibilities

  • Creates social media content (copy, imagery, video) for Michigan Humane’s social media channels, including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, and YouTube.
  • Oversees social communities to increase engagement across all channels as well as representing the brand on these platforms, answering questions and proactively participating in online dialog.
  • Works collaboratively with other departments to determine online community outreach and messaging needs.
  • Maintains organizational social media calendar, aligning with the Marketing and organization communication strategic plans.
  • Works with other departments to align social media needs and opportunities to their strategic goals.
  • Creates monthly social media analytic reports.
  • Assists Content Marketing Coordinator with weekly television adoption promotion segments.
  • Attend and represent Michigan Humane at community events as needed.
  • Assist Marketing team with other tasks as assigned
