About The Position

Provides a safe, supportive, and predictable environment in dormitory supervision of Job Corps students in their daily activities, monitoring their progress in attaining performance contract goals and objectives and utilizing behavior management practices. Available Shifts: Wednesday - Sunday, Friday - Tuesday & Saturday - Wednesday.

Requirements

Must have a High School diploma or equivalent.
Knowledge of methods needed to instill appropriate behavior as well as work and study habits in adolescent students.
Knowledge of housekeeping techniques and management.
Ability to read, comprehend, interpret, communicate, and execute instructions or directives fluently in English.
Must obtain CPR & 1st aid Certification.

Nice To Haves

At least one year of experience in education or a similar field, working with students.

Responsibilities

Conducts daily safety inspections of assigned area and reports/documents all Facility or Safety related issues.
Provides daily supervision or assistance in monitoring students in personal hygiene, room/ chore assignments, recreation activities, cafeteria monitoring, transportation and programmed activities.
Ensures that students meet required schedule, waking on time and being on time for work or school assignments.
Prepares reports, forms and annotates logs to ensure accurate documentation of daily observations of student’s progress, performance, behavior, emergency information, staff breaks, communication information, references to critical information contained in folders.
Maintains bulletin boards in assigned area with updated student and center information.
May supervise Recreation activities on / off center.
May coach or supervise various sport activities.
Facilitates small group discussions in Life Skills, peer mediation, conflict resolution, etc.
Attends required trainings.
Performs other duties as assigned.
