About The Position

The Soccer Head Coach position is a mission-aligned leader who embodies EHA's philosophy of Christian education and cultivates in students a love for the sport of soccer. The Soccer Head Coach provides leadership in the planning, implementation, coordination, supervision, and evaluation of the EHA soccer program.

Requirements

  • Be in agreement with the EHA statement of faith

  • Have experience as a head coach and player
  • Hold First-aid and CPR certification or be eligible for certification

Responsibilities

  • Supervise all practices and games for the soccer team
  • Supervise student-athletes after school during practices and while traveling to and from games
  • Supervise student-athletes during pickup and dismissal after practices and games
  • Collaborate with the Athletic Director (AD) to set team goals
  • Develop plans for individual skill development, team concepts, drills, and conditioning
  • Review athletic schedules with AD to ensure availability for all practices and games
  • Coordinate with AD regarding athletic award ceremonies
  • Coordinate and execute transportation plans for all team travel, including travel dates, roster counts, and departure/return times
  • Assist the AD in selecting assistant coaches and volunteers
  • Provide orientation, direction, and training for assistant coaches
  • Be present at all games and practices
  • Work with the AD to coordinate game-day duties (equipment manager, timekeeper, scorekeeper, bookkeeper, etc.)
  • Ensure first aid kits are available at all practices and games
  • Promote and model good sportsmanship among athletes, students, and fans
  • Report and document all athletic injuries
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date stat books
  • Conduct meetings with athletes, parents, and coaches as needed
  • Communicate facility, field, or equipment concerns to the AD
  • Collaborate with all coaches to ensure athletes and parents understand all rules and expectations
  • Promote a welcoming environment for visiting teams, guests, and officials
  • Maintain equipment, supplies, and uniforms in good condition
  • Communicate needs for new or replacement items to AD
  • Inspect athletic areas for cleanliness and proper storage of supplies, equipment, and uniforms
  • Oversee the return of all equipment, unused supplies, and uniforms at season's end using a checklist

Benefits

  • Compensation is based on the time commitment and responsibility assigned. Terms will be discussed with the Athletic Director during the application process. This is a part-time, seasonal position compensated through a stipend.
