About The Position

St. Moritz Security Services, Inc. is seeking a SOC/Console Operator for a full-time, 2nd shift position in Carrollton, TX. With over 43 years in the security industry, St. Moritz emphasizes the importance of its people in implementing successful security programs. The SOC/Console Operator will monitor CCTV and alarms remotely, provide remote access control, and respond to and resolve event alarms. This role also supports emergency response and crisis management. The position involves conducting patrols, identifying risks, providing customer service, and adhering to site-specific policies and procedures. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, the ability to perform multiple tasks, and the physical capacity to perform job duties, with reasonable accommodation available.

Requirements

  • Minimum high school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Must possess a valid registration/permit/license required by the state in which the employee is employed.
  • As a condition of employment, employee must successfully complete a background investigation and a post-offer/pre-employment drug/alcohol test where required by the Company or client.
  • Additionally, as a condition of continued employment, employee must maintain current active status of all necessary registrations/licenses/permits required by the jurisdiction and must carry the appropriate documents at all times while on duty.
  • Good interpersonal, organizational, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability to walk long distances, sit or stand for long periods of time.
  • Ability to kneel and bend to look into tight spaces - all with, or without, accommodation.

Nice To Haves

  • SOC/Console experience a preferred plus.
  • Current or prior military experience, or college education in the security field desirable.
  • Minimum 1-3 years of professional-level work experience preferred.
  • Prior experience in the security industry, law enforcement, military, and/or customer service highly desired.
  • Experience in scheduling, operations, or other functions of the security industry a plus.
  • May require a current state driver’s license, clean driving record as determined by SMSSI, and the ability to safely operate motor vehicle, golf cart, and/or bicycle if assigned to a position requiring operation of such.

Responsibilities

  • Monitors CCTV and alarms remotely and provides remote access control.
  • Responds, evaluates, and resolves any event alarms received at the console monitoring station.
  • Supports any Emergency Response Incident or Crisis Management.
  • Conducts regular and random patrols of the interior and perimeter of the facility and identifies potential safety risks, security risks, and undesirable conditions.
  • Provides customer service to clients by carrying out safety and security procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities.
  • Executes security services as outlined in the Post Order Manual and accompanying policy and procedural guidelines.
  • Conducts walking patrols of building/facility (or assigned areas within or outside the building/facility) and may include vehicular patrols, golf cart patrols, and/or bicycle patrols.
  • Identifies and reports security threats, unsafe conditions or hazards, and/or other emergency situations.
  • Performs site-specific duties and tasks based on assignment, which may include customer service, loss prevention, retail security, lobby/visitor reception, service/freight elevator security, loading dock security, and/or a variety of other safety and security roles.
  • Writes detailed, accurate, and legible incident reports during shift, including notation of any unusual activities and how issues were resolved.
  • Contacts appropriate individuals (Site Supervision, Field Management, etc.) as directed by site post orders or as needed during shift.
  • Knows all site-specific policies and procedures, and implements emergency response activities as appropriate.
  • Follows all company procedures, maintains acceptable attendance, and adheres to all grooming and customer service standards.
  • Participates in all company and site required orientation and training programs.
  • Responds to any incidents that occur during shift, in conformity with the Post Orders and the Company’s Use of Force Policy, ensuring appropriate action is taken, all reports are properly completed, and appropriate parties are notified in a timely manner.
  • Conducts security, customer service, or support function(s) as directed by supervisor or in support of client request(s).
