About The Position

The state’s Division of Mental Health, Developmental Disabilities, and Substance Use Services, and Division of Health Benefits contracts with CIDD to coordinate the NCI project. Each year, CIDD interviewers complete approximately 700 interviews of North Carolina residents with intellectual/developmental disabilities, and this year will complete additional interviews with older adults with disabilities. The purpose of the interviews is to assess outcomes of services provided to individuals and families. Indicators address key areas of interest including employment, rights, service planning, community inclusion, choice, and health and safety. Interviews will be completed remotely via Zoom or in person, starting in the Fall/Early Winter of 2026. In-person interviewing will depend on the preference of consumers being interviewed. For in-person interviewing, interviewers must provide their own transportation to interview sites, which may include individual homes, workplaces, or public facilities. Location and date/time of interview will be determined by the consumer and/or guardian, so may include evenings or weekends. The interviewer will be expected to independently conduct the standardized interview, record consumer responses and complete all required paperwork according to established protocol. Interviewers are needed to complete interviews remotely using our HIPAA compliant UNC Zoom account, as well as in-person.
