About The Position

Phoenix Cyber is seeking SOC Analysts to join its client delivery team. This onsite position is located at the client site in Chandler, Arizona, and requires shift work, including some overnight work. The role monitors and analyzes network traffic, intrusion detection systems, security events, and logs; distinguishes potential intrusion attempts from false alarms; supports reporting and security investigations; and helps develop monitoring content and incident response guidance. The position requires the ability to work a shift schedule and to multitask while giving equal attention to varied functions under pressure.

Requirements

Must be a U.S. citizen.
High school diploma or GED.
Two years of experience in security.
Experience handling incident response.
Certified Ethical Hacking (CEH) certification or CompTIA CySA+ certification, and within six months of hire, a certification from the CSSP Analyst, Infrastructure Support, or IR categories on the DOD 8570 list, or another similar certification approved by the Government.
Active Secret clearance.
Ability to work a shift schedule.
Ability to multitask and give equal attention to a variety of functions while under pressure.

Responsibilities

Monitor and analyze network traffic, intrusion detection systems (IDS), security events, and logs.
Prioritize and differentiate potential intrusion attempts from false alarms.
Develop, maintain, and follow SOC Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Support daily and monthly situation reporting per shift.
Proactively review large data sets for anomalous activity.
Create detective content for monitoring devices such as IDS and SIEM, and advise on proactive blocks for security architecture.
Create and track security investigations through resolution.
Compose security alert notifications and other communications.
Advise incident responders on steps to investigate and resolve computer security incidents.
Stay up to date with current vulnerabilities, attacks, and countermeasures.
