About The Position
Responsible for the inspection, sorting preparation to load soak tank, quality specifications by grinding the surface and weld repair for tabs and rivets.
Requirements
- Visually inspect springs and clutch surface for quality and/or defects
- Visually inspect for cracks
- Inspect surface roughness with profilometer
- Must be able to read micrometers, calipers, and indicator gauges
- Follow work instructions and do not deviate from them
- Ability to use gauges for inspection
- Ability to learn and properly identify part numbers
- Question supervisor or line lead if something is not right
- Standing, lifting, twisting, bending
- Lifting up to 15 lbs. repetitively, 30 lbs. frequently
- Lifting parts above shoulders
- Fast pace and repetitive
- Must be willing to be trained and audited for safety, quality, 5S, housekeeping, and production
Responsibilities
- Load and unload soak tank rack
- Scrape clutch and friction material of parts
- Sort and pole up parts
- Grind piston clutch surfaces as needed using hand grinders and hand sanders.
- Weld piston tabs and rivets for repair
- Inspect with go/ no-go gauges, micrometers, calipers, profilometers and visually.
- Inspect for cracks.
- Transfer clutches with carts to a designated area
- Fill out audit forms
- Make go / no-go decisions
- Must perform all other duties as assigned by Supervisor and/or Line Leader.
