The SNUG Street Outreach program is an evidence-based initiative focused on violence reduction by identifying causes and interrupting transmission, utilizing outreach teams of credible messengers to mentor high-risk youth with an emphasis on conflict mediation and violence prevention. The SNUG Case Management Initiative, a partnership between DCJS and the state Office of Victim Services (OVS), aims to address trauma experienced by program participants and staff, and improve access to victim services. The SNUG case manager will be based at the SNUG office, supervised by the SNUG site-based social worker, and will assist in providing case management services to victims of crimes, including navigating court and medical appointments, applying for OVS compensation, and connecting individuals to educational/vocational services.
