Snubbing Operator
About The Position
This job has preference to qualified local job seekers within 60 miles of Axis Odessa, TX facility. The Snubbing Operator safely coordinates and oversees snubbing units at the well sites. This individual will have an active state-issued Class A or B CDL with air brakes endorsement. The Operator will be responsible for directing crew members while rigging up and rigging down of snubbing unit, maintenance of snubbing unit, clean up/repair of support equipment, and the preparation of equipment for the next job. Operators will provide mentorship to snubbing assistants and other members of the snubbing crew. The Snubbing Operator will have working knowledge of snubbing unit operations and will help maintain customer satisfaction and ensure quality service to customer while on location.
Requirements
- High School Diploma, GED or equivalent education
- Valid, active state-issued driver license
- Class A or B CDL with air brakes endorsement is preferred and a plus
- Minimum of two (2) years snubbing experience and/or workover rig experience
- Prior work experience with heavy equipment operation and maintenance a plus
- Basic computer skills – Microsoft Outlook and Word
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with customers, visitors, vendors and other employees
- Mobility, including entering confined spaces, enter areas by the use of ladders or other access devices up to 15 ft.; ability to bend, stoop, twist, stand, squat, crawl and walk
- Must be able to lift up to 75 lbs.
- Ability to effectively communicate, both verbally and written in English
- Ability to interact with others in a team environment
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks at once
- Basic writing, math, problem solving and organizational skills
- Must be able to work a varied schedule and travel as job requires
- Have dependable form of communication – cell phone preferred.
- Dependable transportation.

Responsibilities
- Ensuring hydraulic hoses, equipment startup, engaging of prime mover and hydraulic pumps are connected and operating correctly
- Directing crew members while rigging up and rigging down of snubbing unit
- Maintenance of snubbing unit
- Clean up/repair of support equipment
- Preparation of equipment for the next job
- Providing mentorship to snubbing assistants and other members of the snubbing crew
- Maintaining customer satisfaction and ensuring quality service to customer while on location
- Following proper rig-up and rig-down procedures
- Maintaining all required log books and inspection reports
- Completing pre- and post-trip inspections, and fuel and service units
- Maintaining assigned equipment and performing daily inspections to ensure compliance with operational and safety requirements
- Reporting all operational deficiencies to supervisor and maintenance personnel
- Performing equipment inspection and maintenance as requested and completing paperwork
- Monitoring well control parameters and calculations before and during job applications
- Maintaining general housekeeping, clean up, repair, and preparation of equipment for the next job
- Operating equipment in accordance with company procedures
- Practicing safe driving procedures when travelling to and from locations
- Communicating and interpreting work instructions
- Using safe practices during operations, supporting all safe acts and having stop work authority
- Performing other duties as required
