About The Position

Lead guests beyond the beaten path and help them experience Mt. Hood in a whole new way! As a Snowshoe Guide at Mt. Hood Meadows, you’ll lead guests of all ages on guided snowshoe tours through the mountain environment, sharing the experience while helping guests feel comfortable, engaged, and connected to the outdoors. You’ll lead individuals and groups along designated snowshoe routes, demonstrate proper snowshoe use, provide basic instruction, and prepare trails before tours. You’ll also support daily Nordic Center operations, assist with equipment rentals and guest check-in, and work closely with other departments to keep tours running safely and smoothly. If you enjoy being outside, working with people, and sharing your enthusiasm for the mountain, this is a great opportunity to turn that passion into a rewarding seasonal role. Spend your winter exploring Mt. Hood, introducing guests to snowshoeing, and helping create memorable mountain experiences, even for those who don’t ski or snowboard.

Requirements

18 years of age or older
Successful completion of Mt. Hood Meadows Snowshoe Guide Training
Strong communication and guest service skills
Friendly, helpful demeanor with a desire to create awesome guest experiences
Ability to work independently
Comfortable working with and guiding diverse groups, including youth
Desire to work outdoors in all winter conditions
Ability to provide own equipment for snowshoeing
Track record of reliability and timeliness
Able to commit to work weekends and holidays during the tour season

Nice To Haves

Previous experience teaching or leading groups
Experience guiding snowshoeing or other winter sports
Comfort with MHM rental procedures (Sahale and Nordic)
Familiarity with MHM resort layout and trail systems
Bilingual or multilingual
Ability to teach Classic and Skate skiing (may qualify for full-time Nordic instructor status)

Responsibilities

Lead guests of all ages on guided snowshoe tours.
