About The Position

Create massive amounts of snow while utilizing New Hampshire’s most powerful snowmaking. Work with a team of driven individuals all focused on creating high-quality snow across three mountain peaks. As a Loon snowmaker, you will routinely work with industry-leading snowmaking equipment while maintaining waterlines, hydrants, and high-pressure pumps across the resort. You must be safety conscious, love the outdoors, and be able to hike and work in extreme weather conditions. Entry level position in Snowmaking department. As a customer focused organization, a crucial part of each employee’s job is to get and keep guests.

Requirements

  • No prior experience or training.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively within a professional manner.
  • Basic math skills required.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and apply a common sense of understanding.

Nice To Haves

  • Resort Certification on related equipment may be obtained as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and monitor snow guns.
  • Monitor performance as needed to insure proper air/water combination and quality snow.
  • Produce quality snow across all three mountain peaks
  • Inspect guns, hoses, hydrants, and other equipment to insure safe and efficient operation.
  • Adjust the water and/or air flow to snow guns.
  • Change nozzles on snow guns when necessary to maintain efficiency.
  • Conduct regular maintenance checks on equipment, including checking water pipes, fluid levels and volume, temperature controls, and energy consumption.
  • Document and report mechanical/safety issues, complete maintenance logs and checklists.
  • Perform light maintenance or repairs on equipment.
  • Work safely in close proximity to heavy equipment, high voltage, and high water pressures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned while waiting for optimum snowmaking weather.
  • Work closely with and assist other departments such as Grooming, Ski Patrol, Lift Operations, etc.
  • Test the quality of snow as it is made, reporting findings and conditions to the supervisor.
  • Drive snowmobiles, trucks, and ATVs as necessary.
  • Protect the safety of self, co-workers, and Loon Mountain Resort guests at all times.
  • Report any potentially harmful equipment or situations to the immediate supervisor without delay.
  • Report safety-related accidents and incidents at once to immediate supervisor.
  • Follow all company and department safety policies and procedures.
  • Operate equipment in a safe manner that will not lead to injury of yourself or others.
  • Drive in accordance with the law and Loon Mountain Resort policies if required to drive. Be willing to ride as a passenger as needed.
