About The Position

The Data Movement Engineer supports enterprise data platform modernization initiatives with a focus on Snowflake, ETL operations, and data warehouse engineering. This role is responsible for designing, optimizing, and maintaining scalable data pipelines while providing production support across complex data environments. The position combines hands-on engineering, data modeling, and operational support to ensure reliable, high-performing data movement and analytics capabilities.

Requirements

  • 5 or more years of experience in data warehousing, ETL, or business intelligence engineering
  • 5 or more years of hands-on experience with Snowflake development
  • Strong expertise in SQL across platforms including Snowflake, Oracle, SQL Server, or DB2
  • Strong proficiency in Python or Shell scripting
  • Experience implementing change data capture and Slowly Changing Dimensions Type 2
  • Experience working with Data Vault or similar data modeling frameworks
  • Familiarity with orchestration tools such as Airflow or ESP
  • Experience with Git or version control systems and CI/CD practices
  • Experience with incident management tools such as ServiceNow or Jira
  • Strong understanding of cloud data warehousing and enterprise data architecture

  • Snowflake certification
  • Experience in regulated enterprise environments such as financial services or insurance
  • Experience supporting large-scale production data operations
  • Experience optimizing ETL pipelines and distributed data systems

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and optimize Snowflake data pipelines, data models, and warehouse configurations
  • Implement scalable solutions for data ingestion, transformation, storage, and movement
  • Support enterprise cloud data architecture modernization initiatives
  • Ensure performance, scalability, and reliability of Snowflake-based solutions
  • Manage full lifecycle ETL and Snowflake operations including monitoring, troubleshooting, and optimization
  • Translate stakeholder requirements into scalable data movement and integration solutions
  • Ensure high availability and stability of production data workflows
  • Support performance tuning and operational improvements
  • Implement advanced data modeling methodologies including Data Vault 2.0 and dimensional modeling
  • Support change data capture and Slowly Changing Dimensions Type 2 implementations
  • Develop scalable and maintainable enterprise data structures
  • Contribute to enterprise data architecture design and standards
  • Provide operational support for Snowflake, IBM DB2, and ETL orchestration tools
  • Perform root cause analysis, data discrepancy investigations, and latency troubleshooting
  • Resolve production incidents and ensure system stability
  • Participate in on-call and after-hours support as required
  • Perform data validation, reconciliation, and quality analysis
  • Support metadata management, lineage tracking, and governance initiatives
  • Ensure accuracy, consistency, and completeness of enterprise data
  • Collaborate with data architects, business stakeholders, and application teams
  • Provide technical leadership, code reviews, and mentorship to team members
  • Maintain production support documentation, playbooks, and version-controlled scripts
  • Communicate issues, risks, and improvements effectively
