About The Position

Diamond Technology is seeking a Snowflake Analytics Engineer for a client, a large local public organization. This role involves providing technical support for the development of data infrastructure, including app development, data migration, building dbt/Snowflake data objects, building AWS and Snowflake testing infrastructure, and consulting on CI/CD infrastructure design. The position is on-site in San Francisco for a duration of one year, working 40 hours a week.

Requirements

  • Experience leveraging AWS Python Lambdas to integrate data across systems (at least 4 examples in the past 5 years).
  • Experience with dbt/Snowflake data modeling (at least 4 examples in the past 5 years).
  • Experience with data processing and optimizing over large (not hyper-large) datasets (at least 4 examples in the past 5 years).
  • Experience with unit and integration testing (at least 4 examples in the past 5 years).
  • Experience with CI/CD and/or infrastructure as code (at least 4 examples in the past 5 years).

Nice To Haves

  • Experience developing Streamlit applications.
  • Experience with Merit Bridge schemas.
  • Experience with Position Management Dashboard SQL and PowerBI queries.
  • Experience with AWS Services (Lambda, RDS, DynamoDB).

Responsibilities

  • Develop Streamlit applications over various Snowflake datasets, including CRUD operations and more nuanced applications with conditional logic and complex views.
  • Rebuild Merit Bridge schemas in dbt/Snowflake, refactoring AWS database connection code to point to Snowflake, and migrating the data.
  • Translate and migrate legacy data models in Department Snowflake in UDP Snowflake.
  • Refactor current Position Management Dashboard SQL and PowerBI queries into dbt-standardized data objects.
  • Build dbt objects based on SME-developed schemas, queries, and data models.
  • Build unit and integration tests for Python codebase spanning AWS Services (Lambda, RDS, DynamoDB) and Snowflake to integrate within CI/CD infrastructure.
  • Develop test suites for internal DHR hiring systems.
  • Execute test suites against internal technical systems and produce documented results.
  • Provide recommendations and input on CI/CD Infrastructure design.
  • Produce documented best-practices, recommendations, and/or guidelines about infrastructure development and design.
