About The Position

The Head Coach, Snowboardcross is responsible for leading, organizing, and managing the highest quality Snowboardcross National Team Program. This role is the leader of the Snowboardcross National and Development teams, responsible for preparing the team for the highest level of success through expertise and experience. The Head Coach is athlete-focused, performance-driven, a good communicator, and detail-oriented. Requirements

National and International level snowboardcross coaching experience with World Cup level athletes.
An attitude and mindset for thinking outside of the box and pushing the boundaries to achieve excellence.
A very strong work ethic and a curiosity to continue to learn.
Excellent at building relationships, being collaborative, listening, in addition to very strong communication skills, both verbal (including public speaking) and written.
Experience managing teams and culture within those teams.
Must be a strategic and long-term thinker, while also being detail and task oriented.
Strong time management skills and works well under pressure.

Nice To Haves

Experience of working with diverse stakeholders preferred.
Foreign language skills are a plus.

Responsibilities

Establishes a positive environment for the athletes and coaches and works to establish a collaborative culture of mutual accountability and continuous feedback.
Highly knowledgeable and involved in the specific details of Snowboardcross including specific training programs, staffing responsibilities, individual athlete performance goals, and strategies to achieve those goals.
Responsible for establishing expectations of athletes and staff in adhering to the values, culture, and expectations associated with team and organization.
Ensure training and competition plans are established, implemented, and modified as necessary to meet the individual athlete needs as well as the agreed upon philosophies and plans.
Establish and execute an annual and long-term sport plan that provides for an athlete focused approach for success at every level.
Lead coaches, technicians and other sport support in implementing the annual plan against the agreed upon goals and objectives.
Coordination with Sports Science Department on all team support (PTs, Doctors, Strength & Conditioning, Nutrition, Sports Psychologists) at all preparation and competition projects. Ensure that all members of the staff understand and follow the policies and procedures for dealing with athlete injury and rehabilitation.
Strong knowledge of FIS and U.S. Ski & Snowboard competition rules and process.
Establish selection criteria and process for the following levels: National Team, World Cup, World Championships, Olympic Winter Games.
Collaborate with Team Manager on project planning to ensure details are in place for elite performance at camps and competitions.
Collaborate with Sport Director regarding overall direction of program, future strategies, challenges, budget, and long-term planning.
Benchmark our programs and performance against other nations and constantly evaluating our programs to ensure athletic success.
Work proactively with other organizational departments to ensure needs and requirements for the program are being delivered.
Active role in relevant FIS Committees and activities to ensure direction of sport globally aligns with domestic priorities.
Plan and execute an agreed upon budget that focuses resources on the execution of the athletic plan.
Manage the Snowboardcross national team budget including camp and competitions, technicians, and equipment.
Management expenses for each project and/or event.
Ensure that operational plans are compatible with available budget.
Direct supervision of the Snowboardcross World Cup Coach and Technicians (seasonal contracts).
