About The Position

Homewood is seeking a Non-Certified Ski or Snowboard Instructor to join the Snowsports Department. This role is responsible for creating unforgettable experiences and lifelong memories for our guests. You will deliver world-class snowsports instruction to students of all ages and abilities, using modern, student-centered teaching techniques in a safe, engaging, and supportive environment. As a visible ambassador for the resort and the sport, you will inspire passion for skiing and snowboarding, foster skill development, and promote a culture of safety, fun, and learning. By building genuine connections and delivering exceptional guest service, you will help ensure our guests return season after season.

Requirements

  • Ability to make round linked turns while maintaining speed control on groomed blue terrain.
  • Knowledge of local mountain terrain, conditions, and resort operations.
  • Experience working with children.
  • Must be able to work flexible work hours/schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Long hours may be required due to business demands.
  • Part-time instructors are expected to commit to a minimum of 14 days of availability, including weekends and holidays, as scheduled by the organization.
  • Flexibility and ability to pivot to new projects and desire to work in fast-paced environment.
  • Positive attitude, professional demeanor, and exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to deliver service to members, guests, and team members.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Ability to stay calm and focused during the busiest of times.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English; additional languages preferred.
  • Must be able to work flexible work hours/schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Long hours may be required due to business demands.
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of the position including, but not limited to, working indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions, standing, walking, and moving for periods of greater than eight (8) hours, and lifting and carrying items sometimes greater than fifty (50) pounds.

Responsibilities

  • Provide professional, engaging snowsports instruction to guests of all ages and ability levels, tailoring lessons to individual needs and goals.
  • Use modern, student-centered teaching methods to create a safe, fun, and effective learning environment.
  • Assess guest skills and progress, offering clear, constructive feedback and achievable next steps.
  • Model and promote safe skiing and riding practices, including proper use of lifts and awareness of mountain conditions.
  • Act as an ambassador for the resort by delivering exceptional guest service and fostering a welcoming atmosphere on and off the snow.
  • Communicate effectively with guests, parents/guardians, and fellow team members to ensure an outstanding experience.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and behavior that reflects resort standards.
  • Assist with group organization, class assignments, and lesson scheduling as needed.
  • Stay current with industry best practices, resort programs, and safety protocols through ongoing training and certification.
  • Support resort events, programs, and initiatives that promote snowsports and enhance the guest experience.
  • Other duties as assigned.
