About The Position

This position is responsible for operating the SMT machine, which includes understanding the sequence of events, the control panel and indicators, and knowing how to replenish supplies and components according to Standard Operating Procedures. The role also involves setting up and adjusting the machine, performing feeder loading and changing as per manufacturing instructions and Standard Operating Procedures, and general machine cleaning and upkeep. The operator will also support Quality and Environmental Objectives and perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Understanding of procedures for handling and storing moisture sensitive devices (MSDs).
• Knowledge of ESD requirements for the manufacturing area.
• Understanding of the procedure for control of solder paste.
• Familiarity with general instructions for handling and processing PCBs.
• Knowledge of production output per customer requirements.
• Component identification skills.
• Understanding of safety and personal protection equipment (PPE) requirements of the area.
• Basic understanding of non-conforming materials (NCM).
• Ability to read, speak, write and understand English.
• Ability to interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, drawings and specification sheets, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations.
• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
• Regularly required to talk or hear.
• Frequently required to sit.
• Occasionally required to stand and walk.
• Occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds.
• Interacting with co-workers as required.
• Attend meetings as required.

Responsibilities

• Operate the machine, including understanding the sequence of events, control panel and indicators, and replenishing supplies and components per Standard Operating Procedures.
• Set-up of the machine, machine adjustments, and performing feeder loading and changing per manufacturing instructions and Standard Operating Procedures.
• General machine cleaning and upkeep per Standard Operating Procedures.
• Support Quality and Environmental Objectives.
• Other duties as assigned.
