About The Position

This position involves the operation of a laser, forming sheet metal components by brake press, and prepping chamber components for paint.

Possession of High School Diploma or GED
Previous experience working in a manufacturing environment
Previous experience running Trumpf Flat Bed Laser
History of good attendance
Task oriented
Good math skills with ability to convert decimals to fractions
Ability to use the following tools: combination square, protractor, calibers, etc
Ability to read and understand mechanical engineering drawings
Demonstrated ability to follow procedures
Accuracy in reading a tape measure up to 1/16”
Ability to read, understand, and interpret parts list and fill out quality check sheets

Loads and unloads delivered sheet metal onto racks.
Bulk sheet metal skid management
Reads tape measure easily
Identifies proper material being used from parts list
Uses overhead crane to move sheet metal
Selects type of material and quantity from sheet metal cut list
Loads sheet metal onto machine and uses computer to program job
Ensures materials are properly deburred
Ensures identification of finished pieces with part number that come off the laser
Places cut and labeled sheet metal on skid for next operation
Removes excess sheet metal from tray/table bed.
Responsible for laser maintenance: cleaning, emptying pans, replacing filters
Reads, understands, and interprets parts lists and engineering drawings
Uses proper PPE when operating laser & brake press
Sets up brake press for bending procedures
Forms material to the assigned specifications
Use of hand sanders and chemicals for proper chamber component cleaning
Know the difference between structural, mild, and stainless steel
Identify components for proper cleaning
Able to acid clean components
Operate a hi-lo
