About The Position

This position is responsible for providing front line guest service for the Shooting Star Casino. In all interactions, the position is responsible for providing STAR Experience to guests and fellow team members a first priority. Shooting Star Casino team members will always deliver excellent guest service to our guests and fellow co-workers. Our Star Service expectations include being: WELCOMING – Make every person feel invited and accepted PROACTIVE – Anticipate Guest needs UNIQUE – Create a one-of-a-kind experience at every opportunity RESOURCEFUL – Resolve the need COMPLETE – Take care and close Processes high volume of currency, comps, coupons, credit cards and gift certificates to meet the guests’ needs. Accounts for shortages or overages. Counts and exchanges of currency and coins. Processes transfer to vault at end of shift. Operates point of sale equipment (micros). Converts currency and change accurately to process guest’s transactions. Applies tips to appropriate server. Maintains and understands various promotions to use each month. Process credit cards. Verify checks. Ensure proper cash handling procedures are always followed. Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • No minimum education or experience required
  • Must meet licensing requirements as prescribed by the Tribal State Compact for Gaming.
  • Knowledge or ability to learn point of sale equipment (Micros).
  • Knowledge of credit cards, coupons, promos, etc.
  • Knowledge of and ability to count money.
  • Knowledge of promotional programs offered by the casino.
  • Skill in verifying and balancing transactions, tills and preparing internal control reports.
  • Skill in dealing with guests both internal and external.
  • Skill in answering phone calls/taking reservations.
  • Skill in basic math including addition, subtraction, division, percentages and decimals.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions.
  • Ability to stand, walk and kneel.
  • Ability to reach with hands and arms.
  • Ability to maintain a positive attitude under stressful situations.
  • Ability to lift to 15 pounds.
  • Ability to help in other areas.

Nice To Haves

  • one-month related experience preferred.
  • Ongoing and/or continuing education maybe required of certain compact or non-compact positions. This will be outlined upon hire by the specific department alcohol awareness, safe food handling.
