Entry-Level Smart Systems Technician
About The Position
Hoppen Home Systems is looking for motivated individuals ready to start a hands-on career in the fast-growing smart home and low-voltage technology industry. No prior industry experience is required — we’re looking for dependable people with a strong work ethic and a willingness to learn. This is a great opportunity for career changers, entry-level candidates, trade school graduates, former warehouse, cable, automotive or construction workers, and anyone who enjoys working with their hands and is ready to take initiative to learn the trade. You’ll work alongside experienced technicians running cable and installing equipment for residential and commercial projects.
Requirements
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn
- Dependable and self-motivated
- Comfortable using hand and power tools
- Good communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to lift 75 lbs
- Ability to work on ladders when needed
- Pass background check and drug screening
Nice To Haves
- Wiring experience
- Security systems, access control or AV equipment installation
- Basic networking or computer knowledge
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation preferred
Responsibilities
- Pull, label, and organize low-voltage wiring
- Assist lead technicians with installation of cameras, TVs, speakers, smart deadbolts, maglocks, card readers and other equipment
- Follow directions from lead technicians and project leaders
- Maintain professional appearance and represent the company well on job sites
- Maintain a clean, organized and safe work environment
- Some travel required
